Thirlmere Walk Report

Thirlmere

The latest walk for members of Northern Lakes Accommodation Providers (NLAP) took place on Wednesday 15th October. The walk took in part of the shore of Thirlmere and the fellside below the Hellvelyn range.

Starting from Swirls on the A591 the chosen route took the group down to the lakeside, around the back of Dalehead Hall and on to Greathow Wood. A quick jaunt up Great How provided a good, if slightly breezy, vantage point where lunch was taken. From Greathow Wood the route crossed the A591 around Legburthwaite and headed up onto the fellside, then followed a terrace footpath back towards Swirls.

Other than the odd light shower the weather held and the breath of fresh air was enjoyed by those members which came along on the walk.
