Press Release, Friday 14th July
Presentation to Air Ambulance
Recently Dennis Banner and John Damment, chair and secretary of the LHA North, presented a cheque for £850 to representatives from the Pride of Cumbria Association - Jan Hawkins, senior coordinator; Jim Martin, chief pilot; and members of the crew.
The money was raised by holding raffles at social events, a Grand Draw at the Association's Christmas Ball, and the proceeds from the Mince Pie and Punch stall at Keswick Victorian Fayre. Jan Hawkins praised the Associations' excellent fundraising effort in support of the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance.
Preparing for Digital TV
The Conservative Club function room was the venue for a very well attended Association North information drop-in last Thursday. Martin Lankester introduced Jeff Brown from The Electric Shop in Keswick, who gave an excellent presentation about the area's preparations so far for the digital TV switchover, and ways forward for hotels and guest houses.
This was followed by a lively question and answer session, which has been transcribed by Martin Lankester and added to the website - www.northlakes.org.uk - for those who were unable to attend.
Dennis Banner, Chair, thanks Jeff Brown for presenting such a detailed and thought provoking talk.
